Privacy

comprimirunpdf processes files exclusively in your browser. The PDF you select is read into the tab's memory and the result is produced on your own device.

What we don't do

  • We don't upload your PDF to any server.
  • We don't store copies of your files.
  • We don't ask you to sign up or for any personal data.

How to check it yourself

You don't have to take our word for it. Anyone can verify in a minute that the file doesn't travel anywhere:

  1. Open the browser's developer tools (F12 on Windows and Linux, Cmd+Option+I on Mac) and go to the Network tab.
  2. Compress a PDF as usual and watch the list of requests. You won't see any upload: no request carries your document, neither at the end nor during the process.
  3. The definitive test: turn off Wi-Fi or mobile data and compress again. It still works, because the work is done by your device. A service that uploaded files couldn't do that.

The progress indicator spells it out: reading the document, reducing the images, measuring the size. All of that happens in the tab's memory, on a separate thread so the interface doesn't freeze.

Hosting and logs

The website is served as static content. The hosting provider may log the usual technical data of any HTTP request (IP address, user agent, requested resource) for security and availability purposes. Those logs don't contain the content of your documents, because your documents are never sent.

Visitor statistics

We use the hosting provider's own analytics (Vercel Analytics) to know how many visits each page gets. It's worth knowing exactly what that involves:

  • It doesn't use cookies or store identifiers in your browser, so no consent banner is needed.
  • It doesn't follow you across other websites. There are no advertising profiles and no data shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
  • The data is aggregated: page views, approximate country, device type and where you came from. It can't identify you.
  • It doesn't touch your files. Measurement happens on navigation, and your documents still never leave your device: that doesn't change.

The script is served from this same domain, not from an external tracking domain. If you use an ad blocker and it blocks it, the tool works exactly the same.

Language

The first time you visit, we show you the site in your language. To choose it we use the language your browser is set to and, only if we don't have any of yours, the approximate country of the connection reported by the hosting provider. That data is used on the spot to decide the language and isn't stored.

If you change the language in the menu, we save your choice in a cookie called idioma that only contains the language code (for example, en) and lasts one year. It's there to remember what you asked for, it doesn't identify you and it isn't shared with anyone. You can delete it from your browser settings.
